What is iCloud?

Steps to reset iCloud Password using your email ID or security questions

In case, you’re not enrolled in Two-factor Authentication on your Apple ID, you’ll be prompted to use your registered Email ID or answer the security questions to reset iCloud password:

  1. 1) Open any web browser on your Apple device and navigate to iforgot.apple.com
  2. 2) Type your Apple ID username (For ex: name@example.com)
  3. 3) Press “Continue”
  4. 4) Opt for “I need to reset my Password”
  5. 5) Press “Continue”
  6. 6) In the next step, you’ll be prompted to select “get an email” or “answer my security questions”.

In case, you choose to get an email:

  1. 1) Click on “Get an Email” and Continue
  2. 2) Press “Done”
  3. 3) Go to your Apple Account and open the Email sent to you. The email will have a title “How to reset your Apple ID Password”
  4. 4) Press “Reset Now”
  5. 5) Type a new password that is easy to recall
  6. 6) Retype the password for confirmation
  7. 7) Press “Reset Password”

In case, you choose to answer the Security Questions:

  1. 1) Continue from Step 7 and Click on “Answer Security Question”
  2. 2) Confirm your Date of Birth and Press “Continue”
  3. 3) You’ll be prompted to answer two security questions that you selected while creating the account.
  4. 4) Press “Continue”
  5. 5) Type a new password that is easy to recall
  6. 6) Retype the password for confirmation
  7. 7) Press “Reset Password”

iCloud Password Reset can also be performed using an alternative method known as Two-Factor Authentication. All you need is to have the feature turned on in your Apple ID account, and you’ll also need a device that is connected to your Apple ID.
